One of the cornerstones of our quality assurance is the regular testing of our concrete. We commonly perform compressive strength tests on concrete cubes to consistently verify that our product meets its strength specifications.

Concrete Cube Test:
Concrete cube testing is a critical indicator of the strength of the concrete, assessed typically at 7, 14, and 28 days post-casting in steel molds. This is particularly crucial when producing high-strength concrete for structural construction. At Kota Konkrit, we conduct multiple tests weekly, ensuring every batch of concrete we deliver meets or exceeds its intended performance criteria.

Slump testing is another vital method we employ to ensure the concrete’s workability and correct water content for the specified slump. While often performed by the site supervisor, it is part of a range of testing services we offer, including air content testing for PAV mixes.

Our Cube Testing Process:

• We start by cleaning the concrete mold to remove any debris and apply oil to prevent the concrete from adhering to the mold after setting.
• A concrete sample is taken from the mixer or vehicle.
• The mold is filled with concrete using a scoop, and a testing bar is used to tamper the concrete as per BSI standard requirements, typically producing a minimum of three cubes from each sample.
• The molds are stored in a temperature-controlled environment until the concrete sets.
• After setting, the cubes are carefully removed from the molds and placed in a controlled water tank.
• When due for testing, the cubes are sent to an independent laboratory, where they remain in controlled conditions until tested.
• In the lab, cubes undergo compression testing to determine their strength by measuring how much pressure they can withstand before cracking, yielding strength results in N/mm².
